What is it, exactly?

Keto Now diet is a low-carbohydrate, high-fat diet that has been used for millennia to address a variety of medical conditions. The brain requires the most glucose in a continuous supply, around 120 grammes per day, due to its inability to retain it. While fasting or consuming very little carbohydrate, the body pulls stored glycogen from the liver and momentarily breaks down muscle to release glucose. When the body's stored glucose is depleted after 3-4 days, blood levels of an insulin-like hormone decline, and the body resorts to fat as its primary fuel source. 

When ketone bodies build up in the blood, ketosis sets in. Healthy persons naturally experience moderate ketosis during times of fasting (e.g., sleeping overnight) and high-intensity activity. According to proponents of the ketogenic diet, the brain will use ketones for fuel, and healthy people will normally create enough insulin to avoid excessive ketones from accumulating. Ketone levels in the blood should not reach a dangerous level if the diet is strictly maintained (known as "ketoacidosis").  The time it takes to enter ketosis and the amount of ketone bodies that accumulate in the blood are determined by a number of factors, including body fat percentage and resting metabolic rate.
